Default Hit the river this morning.

Needed a nature fix this morning and was pleasently rewarded. There was 2 trees with at least 100 Snowy Egrets in full plummage. Saw several Blue Herons in full plummage. Manatees were out and about eating the abundance of water lettuce that has washed down with all the high water. Watched a family of otters for about 20 minutes. Bald eagles and Ospreys were out fishing. Had several flights of wood ducks zoom by at predawn in the fog. River has dropped about a foot but still above the banks in the woods. Maybe by next week if no rains she will be back inside her banks. Only managed 3 Warmouth and 1 speck. But had a great morning on the water. Had left my trolling poles at home, but maybe next weekend I will try pullin the river or just stick with single polin em. I love fishing Monroe but there sure aint much scenery out there. Ran into 3 other boats of fellers I know and we ended up just settin and bs'n for about an hour. Talked to Crappieday and he was doing much better than we all were. Anyway hope yall had a great day! Sorry no pics, phone camera stinks at anything over 3' away.

Great report!! Fish counts are second to the fun factor and all the great critters you saw

Sounds like a great day to me. I can get lost in watching wildlife like that.

Thats why I love taking the kayak for a stroll after work during the summer. Got the rods with me but do very little fishing. Just watch all the critters.

Sound like good time. I enjoy trips down the Sattillia and St.Marys in the summer.

That new ride of yours will go about anywhere, and it sounds like you had a good time. I used to like running up the Wekiva til I got to the inevitable new tree I couldn't get past and drifting back down. I've seen just about everything that walks the state doing that. Thanks for the visit. I remember when.......

Nice day for sure, it's not always about catching. You saw a lot of animals that you don't see everyday.

Sounds like a great day of fishin & cruisin the river
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"
