What model of American angler electric knife do you recommend see a couple of different models and blades. Mainly for freshwater and on occasion saltwater, have had rapala did not last just brought the mister twister about a month ago cleaned about 100 fish and the blades are dull. any advice please.

The replacement blades are pretty cheap. Easier than trying to sharpen the dull ones. A lot of the blades will fit different knives. The Mister Twister fits my American Angler. I am not where I can look to see the model number. I got it used off of EBay for $35. Looked brand new, did not know what a deal it was until I saw the price of new ones. It is a hoss, I cleaned a zillion Oscars when I was in Florida last March and it never missed a beat.

I have been using my Rapala for 5/6 years and just replaced my blades this year for $10. Good electric knife for $50.

I've got a rechargeable rapala that I've used for three years still going strong.....a few weeks ago I bought another one just like it with blades and batteries and no charger at a garage sale for $3.00....man said he couldn't find the charger had no use for it. Now I'm set for a long time.....two motors, 4 batteries, 8 blades...luck me!

I have two American Angler electric knifes. One is about 20 years old and the other is about 10 years old. They both work well. I like the regular blades. I replace my blades every year and keep the old blades as spares. You have to replace your blades and they don't cost much. If fish all the time you might want to replace 2 or 3 times a year.

Mine is about 20 years old also. Had to replace the cord a year or so ago. Just pull apart and clean and relube gears one a year. Where are you finding replacement blades?
