    Default Welaka area fishing

How about some info on fishing the Welaka area in Oct and Nov. Buddy and I looking at maybe a weeks trip to the general Welaka area for some fall fishing. Just wondering what any of your experiences are for this time of year, places and type of fishing might be.

Personally, I haven't fished the area except Crescent lake in January. You will be located between Lake George and Crescent lake. Should be good either direction you go.

    GOOD LUCK.

I have never fished Little Lake George & only fished the southern end of Big Lake George- did ok.
If I was stayin in the Welaka area I would fish Crescent as much as possible.
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

Thanks guys...... We noticed Crescent is only about 10 miles or so from Welaka......maybe we will check the Crescent area for a place to stay as well. Have been reading all the postings during the winter about Crescent and sure sounds like a great place to hit.

I have heard Crescent is good during the time you'll be in Fla. There's a decent motel there but I can't remember the name of it. Maybe someone here will check in and provide the name. Good luck.

THE BEST TIME TO FISH IS WHEN IT'S RAINING AND WHEN IT'S NOT RAINING

I will be getting in on some Cresent pre spawn action now that I'm in central fl. I've been reading the map of the lake on a daily basis. Hoping to wear them out!

Cool..... we might be able to coordinate a trip if Charles and I do get down there. The motel in Crescent City looks like a good place to stay if we don't end up in Welaka.

BTW, tell me about the map. Maybe I should get one to study.

Cool, not sure when I'll bring the skiff down here, but would love to coordinate a trip if it works out. The map I'm using is actually an app on my iphone. It's the USA Navionics App and has the depths of all the lakes in North America on it. It's very accurate and a handy tool. Best $10 i've ever spent. You can even track your speed on it and plot points.
