well one problem i am going to have is i won't really have transportation,so i won't be able to go really far.on google maps i do see lots of small ponds, road side canals and little places i could get at without too much trouble.there seems to be a fair amount of county parks with ponds which may keep me busy

Lots of small to medium size bass in the roadside canals, never caught any gills or crappie

With now mentioned variables and possible time constraints -
Your best options will be 1. take a freshwater guide trip out of Big O, with
one of guides down by Roland Martin's Marina
    2. Take a off shore salt water fishing trip - as you are in the Paradise part of
    Florida for salt water fishing.
Either way you should have good memories of trip and pictures to back it up.

well if i get to go down there, there will be no real way for me to go to the big O because i won't have a ride.i can't really afford a fishing guide either.my best bet will to ride around on a bicycle and seek out canals and small ponds which are around.i was looking at a public park with a long canal with bass in it on google maps.
