Not as painful as ya'lls non resident hunting liscenses.
With the "Convenience" fee or whatever they call it, my annual FL Non Resident License was $50.48. I'll be leaving from Cochran and taking the back roads thru Waycross into Jacksonville then taking Hwy 17 to Crescent City. From WR, you'll probably be better off taking I-75 to I-10 East then getting off on Hwy 100...I think that runs into Hwy 17. PM me if you have any questions.
Thank you a lot Speckanator for the invite, I'm really trying to work out the details. It will be 2 of us I hope. I really try not tell someone I'll be there, and not make it. I'm looking forward to coming down, I've fished Talquin before and really like the color of those Florida Crappie!!!!!
The farther south you get..... the darker they get. Deep bronze, deep green............... amazing color!
Hope ya make the slabfest

Spanky"s is a pizza/stomboli restaurant in the shopping center across from lakeview hotel in cresent city. It is a good eating place. Breakfast is served at another place 500 yards down toward town, they serve food from 5 to 2:00 pm don't know the name.
X2 on Georgia Boys but it's a long run if you want to fish the south end of Cresent. You need to watch running wide open on Cresent if you're not familiar with the lake. There are some pilings and some sunken trees where you might not expect them! The only thing that saved me once was I saw some birds and I knew they weren't standing on water in the middle! Those crab trap bouys are a pretty fair guide of where the drop on the lake is from deep to shallow water. Good luck!
