Thats some great pics adjust, thanks fer sharing. Looks like fun. And I hear ya on living close to the ramp.
Nice Gator. Caught 8 Specks between 10 and 12". Most caught casting to brush in 6 to 7' of water. Lost a few nice ones. did not bring my net cause it is catch and release this year. Still nice to be able to leave your house and have the motor running in less than 20 min. Favorite color was Orange /chart..

Medard was a great fishery before they drained for dam repair. Good to see that
after 1 yr with resv. filling by natural sources and stocking mostly bluegill, cats,
bass, shellcrackers that the spec population is and has gained that much size, as
to my knowledge they didn't put a large number of spec's into lake, so as other fish
would be able to get a good start .... They may open it to fishing by next January
if this continues like you are showing. Would be great. Although would have to think
about costs involved for annual permits - $100 park permit, $100 for launch permit
& between $30 & $50.00 for night fishing permit ..........thats a hefty ouchie
compared to old permits..............

ha ha ha !!! ! !! had forgot about that little ordeal at Medard during daylight.
Was another reason why we fished it at night. They ate anything that was black
wiper blades, rubber insulation between doors etc. etc. if it was rubber they loved
it. Ranger used to come by about every 2 - 3 hrs and shoot blanks into air to scare
them off..........ha ha ha, i think it just called more of them to come in..........
Could remember trees on island were "white" from bird dung during mating season
with various bird populations..................looks like north christmas, till you got
close to it and could smell
Once known as Pleasant Grove Reservoir it has always been good fishing and gatoring. As a young man, before the park, there was a dirt road on the south side next to the cemetary you could get to the ramp to launch your craft. Never did any night fishing there, didn't want to be that close to a cemetary at night. At one time in later years there was a lot of what we called stick-ups in the lake. The tops of dead trees sticking out of the water. Really big bass were biting and we would cruise around the stick-ups with bait casting reels with 8" blue worms. When a stick-up started to shake or trimble you would cast to that shakeing stick-up and catch a real nice bass 6-12 lbs.
Oh! The days. Memories get better with time.

Wasn't this called Turkey orginally? any way I used to fish this many years ago and the fee if I remember right was only a couple of dollars and no charge to launch your boat. There was always people using the picnic areas which at that time were quite nice. It's a shame that they have to gouge the working man with these obcene fees.

You are correct..........Pleasant Lake i believe was original name, than Turkey Creek,
& Medard. Originally is was small lake, than Mosiac (Cargill) gave land some
of the pitts to country and county blew up couple bridges, dropped a couple houses
and opened a few pits together to form 800 acre lake. still several pits close to original lake that could be easily opened via drainage tubes already in place,
to make it larger in fact this could be where
some of the larger crappie (spec's) that Vince (Adjust555) caught may have come
from. The spec in picture is seem to large to come from a first round stocking when
fwc claimed they did not originally restock yet with Crappie
