Litewirehooker, Tnt, rawhide, airpressure and several others have a ton of info on Talquin. Laketalquinlodge is a forum member as well. Hit them up and you will probably not be able to fish for several months trying to read the info they have. Look at the Monroe vs talquin thread and you should be able to pick out the members fishing it regular. Good luck to ya.

I usually longline troll at Talquin. Lake Talquin can be a killer lake this time of the year with the spawn going on. Even the post spawn is a good time to fish Talquin for crappie. The bass fishing is usually pretty good this time of year and Lake Talquin Lodge has minnows, shiners or whatever you need to fish for whatever you are fishing for. I can't help much on the bass, but you probably will not have to go to far from the boat landing at Lake Talquin Lodge for some good crappie fishing. The mouths of most of the creeks and Goat Island will probably be a good place to start. The fishing was slow at Talquin over this past weekend but it doesn't stay slow for long. This week is looking good weather wise and the fish will probably be picking up by mid week with this small cold front that just moved thru....As far as Jackson goes, I can't tell you a thing....Good Luck!!!!

And if you like to minnow fish, try the lilly pads in the back of the creeks. There have been some really nice fish caught that way lately.

The bite has been slow the last week at Talquin. All the reports I hear are very few Crappie caught anywhere on the lake. The good news is the females are full of eggs so later on this month and the first couple weeks in April should be great. I plan on giving them couple days and try again around first week in April or when I hear a good report. The water color is excellent and it's just a matter of time and being there at the right time.

Watch out for tow ropes. Some guys save trolling motor energy. Just check the back of your boat to see if one is attached. Just kidding, just follow the other boats and see what areas they are fishing. Many share with you about the color and depth. Ask the team a Lake Talquin lodge, they will share with you the colors that they are selling.
