Thread: Been a long time.

Shu called me this morning and asked if I had been out since I have been back here in Leesburg, and if I had been in here. Told him I had been out a couple of times, but only got slabetts (6-8"), and that I had not been checked in here for a long time. After talking with him for a while, he told me about the january get together and to get in here and check out the thread. Told him I would and here I am.
I feel my buds in this forum deserve an explaination of my absence, so here it goes. For some strange reason I lost my fishing mojo. For over a year I just did not have the "want" to go out for some reason or another. Found it easier to make an excuse for not going. I know it sounds funny, and prolly has never happened to anyone else, but that is what happend. With all the traveling across country, having to go back to Longview to help the parents, volunteering my help at different post/lodges and so forth and so on, I surrounded myself with other things to take up my time.
Well, be it just as strange, I have now started wanting to go out fishing again. We got down here for the wife had a contract at the Villages, but it got pushed back to the 2nd of jan. Knowing we could not go that long without a paycheck, she got a seasonal position down in North Ft. Myers. I have been going back and forth when she has a few days off, or she has been coming up here. So we see each other about 3 times a month. Now that the place is in order, and have helped most of my friends get their places ready for the season (lots are over 75 years old and can't "do some of the things they needed done) I find I have the time to go out.
So, there you have the whole story. Slowly getting back into the swing of things as they were a few years ago.....and enjoying it. I do not have the wife's schedule for january yet, but, and if yall would not mind, if the 7th is something I can make, would really like to show up. Even if I do not fish but help with the set up, cook or whatever, would look forward to seeing all your ugly mugs and shaking your hand again.
