were caught on curly tails also (didn't know they would hit a jig!)and headed for mine and my brothers frying pans. Probly should have started an hour sooner. Got to Dead lakes ramp at about 7:30 ,trolled 6 rods for about 3 1/2 hours. Got back to the ramp and met "Jack" a local who told me they were probly in 6' of water around there .We fished mostly deeper water around the entrance to Crescent.

The only person I know of that fishes Crescent regularly says he catches a lot of them while spec fishing. Them some nice ones. Like the looks of your LT as well.

Do most of you boys down that east coast side fish with Gheenoe's or boats build
close to that order ? Mark Irle live over around Sebastian - fishes out of Gheenoe

    Just curious.

The Gheenoes are very popular and have an almost cult like following. Very well suited to fishing the back country and some even push the limits offshore with them. Not my choice for offshore, but a very usable hull for the backcountry and GREAT service from the Gheen family. And Custom Gheenoe can do some amazing things with building them out per owner requests. I came real close to buying 1 when I decided on the G3. If ya got time while healing and want a ton of info and interesting reading check out custom gheenoe and the forums, or microskiff. Might be something to consider on them limited horsepower lakes. They are very stable little boats.

i have a 15.9 gheenoe, like it quite well, use it on Lake Manatee because of 20 hp
restriction. First got it, could almost drag it anywhere to fish the pits with, but now
though, with battery box, live well, depth finder, trolling mtr & 3.2 hp mtr on, swivel seats, 8 rod holders, assorted tackle required to long line and/or spider rig, it takes
a crane to lift it........ but they are a very, very stable piece of equipment, almost
impossible to tip. Never have tried them in fowl weather, although, have watched
them on Manatee couple times and was impressed with how rough water didn't
    seem to bother them.

Check out the LT25 and LT15, they are leaps and bounds ahead of the highsiders.I was editing my post about the limited horsepower while you were posting.
