I saw a post of your where ya mentioned you would be the guy spiderrigging witjout a clue. I have a 14' jon as well and found it almost impossible to spiderrig as it bobs way to much and the baits are jumping around. Try longlining if you are still struggling, ya might find it easier and suddenly, like me, your catch improves. When the bite slows and requires a sssllllooooowwwww presentation it is time to break out the floats and minners and just float around the old fashioned way.

Well said Huntinslabs. That is very accurate and funny you should say this because you just described exactly what I ended up doing this morning on Monroe. I caught a few early by just slowly working against the wind. Then I said to myself, I'll giver her a try and cover some water. It paid off. I stopped the motor a couple of times and found that the drop of my jigs would trigger the strike. That lake is teaming with specks!
FYI, I was the guy in the jon boat wearing an orange polo shirt.

Oh, I forgot to add another feature to my technique. I had a few poles with 2 jigs tied on, instead of just weighting them down with split shots. I caught some fish on the top and some on the bottom jigs. I guess I like the double jig for long-lining because it gives me additional options to try more color combos.
Did I mention how much fun I had.

Here's a pic of huntinslab as a little boy and he hasn't changed that much, just a few more pounds. You shouldn't have any trouble recognizing him.Hands Clapping

Yep, and I was mad cause I wanted a boat not a dern motorcycle. Anything with a motor and 2 wheels means a trip to the ER for me. And them glasses ain't polarized.
