Looks like we'll head that way Sun when we close at 4 PM. I think the weather will be OK to bring the boat and go fishing Mon. morning. What is the best bait for that area and where can I get it? Will probably put in at Swamphouse and fish islands just south of bridge and up the river toward power plant. That sounds like a good spot. When I was exploring a few months ago I found an S curve up river a little from the power plant that had a spot 48-50ft deep ( I thought my Humminbird was broke) is that where you are talking about? Or between bridge and Plant?

Don't care what we (I'll probably have my grandson as they are out of school) catch and don't know if we'll keep anything or just photos. Just want to catch fish. I had some Gulp 3" crawfish last time and caught a few 10-12" catfish between Hwy and islands. I was out of them before I went up the river so I don't know the best bait for that area. Live shrimp maybe? Are there any Reds or Specks up there? Crappie in Governors Bayou, shiners or jigs?

A lot of questions I know, but I only have 1 day maybe a few hrs Tue morning and want to make the best of a fishing trip with my grandson. Want to make him think grandpa knows hot to find fish. This board is our secret!

Thanks a bunch for the info!

I'm headed to Pensacola today, and from what I can tell, we'll have at least one day's in-shore fishing on the schedule. Thanks for the tips. I'll let you know how things turn out.

Go to Pensacolafishingforum.com. Good website with a lot of local info. I was there last week and killed the flounder drifting the pass.

Hey Danny, I’ve been splitting my time between north and south FL. My sister has a beach house up there that she never uses so I try to do my part to keep the cob webs out of it. But I wrenched all the salt water off my poles and I’m back south for a while. Plan on hitting Harney one day this week and maybe go further down 46 to Monroe if I get brave. I’ve never been to Monroe so I need a guide. If you plan on going give me a holler.

Man, I'm just now getting tired of that trip, and now you want me to go again when I'm thinkin of striking out for new water .....
Give me a couple days and I'll see ....................
Not hard to find, I used to put in there at lake Jessup, then follow the river to Monroe, lately though I been just going all the way to the downtown Sanford marina
and puttin in there, head straight across the lake to north shore = fish ...............
Getting to be plenty of boats over there now ...............
Will PM ya when I figure out what I'm gonna do, etc, etc .......
Nice to see ya postin again .........................
