Caught 4 specks (lost 2) and 1 catfish on Lake Carlton this morning.....then the bad weather moved in. Should have known better than to go fishing with a 70% chance of rain. Oh well, had fun anyway and got just a little wet.

Hey Speckanator,
Do you ever get any good sized specks for Carlton or Beauclair? Sometimes I hear that folks get 2lb specks from these lakes, but I have never seen them that big over there.
Just curious as usual.

I've seen and caught several 1 1/2 lb specks but never a 2 lb one. I'm sure they're are some during the winter. These were around 10 to 11 ". The biggest I've ever caught were out of Lake Monroe.

You the man...thanks for sharing some info. Incidentally, the biggest specks I've ever caught came out of Lake Woodruff. There is something about those darn St John's lakes.
