    Default Harris Chain lake report.

Went for a cruise today to take the little woman to lunch at Boondock's on little Harris. Noticed three things...
    1. Bass tourny at Hickory Point.
    2. Not many was catching (talked to several while lookin for gators in canals over there).
    3. Water surface temps were,
    Eustis 86
    Dead River 87
    Harris 86
    Little Harris 87
    Canals off little Harris 90
Was a bit warm to be fishin, 'specially since we did not see ANYONE catching anything. Bass, gills, specks or anything else.
There ya have it. Did really enjoy lunch (thanks John for pointing me to the right place). Good food and not that expensive.

I was on the water yesterday, just tooling around, went over to shellcracker cove, just to the left of boondockers, looking for bluegill or shellcracker nesting activity. Found none. Went to the island and picked up quite a few grass shrimp. On way back to Hickory Point, slowly cruised along bridge and picked up a lot of fish on the depth finder, 6 to 8 feet deep in 12 FOW. Went around near long island and found a lot more grass shrimp. Relocated all of the shrimp that I caught, went back to Hickory Point and had the Coast Guard Aux. check the boat over for a safety certification. PASSED with flying colors. Noticed water temps were in the low 80's every where I went.
Could not locate any nesting activity along all of the shore line anywhere.
They must be located WAY back up in the brush, now that the water level is up from the last several years. Noticed last night that the water level has dropped about a foot from the high of early spring.

    Default Carlton

Water was 84 in Carlton. Caught 2 dinks, lost 5 or 6. Had something run with my line and straighten the hook. I think it was a gar, it wasted no time in when it ran. The water looks NASTY with the green stuff. Also had several bumps on a dark stinger I was using...my guess is it was bream!
