Mike wish we could make it, got plans to go out west and return on the 12th.
I learned to fish for Crappie/Specs using jigs on the St Johns River in the early sixties. The jig was a "Peewee no alibi" .
An older gentle man came upon my friend and I and we were fishless. He said, "let me see if the fish are not biting or you boys just don't know how to fish." He cast this strange looking thing into the waters near our boat and quickly caught a nice Spec. He repeated this several times.
He showed us the lure and we went to the store and bought two each.
After near 50 years, my friend and I still fish together.
We were fishing in Blue creek near Volusia Bar.
Where is Powells Fish Camp? Maybe we can come down sometime.
