Default Home made stick it pin anchor

Had mine out this weekend for shrimping and snapped a pic for those that had interest in one. Here ya go

1/2"X10' fiberglass rod from Grainger and a 2' stretch lock bungee from Home Depot. Going on 1 year now and only have had retape once due to getting pretty tore up on sand and shells.

I like it. Did you tape it from end to end? What kind of tape did you use? Being only a 1/2" does it flex much in a current?

I taped it mainly because of splinters. My boat is real light so I used the gorilla tape to fasten that bungee quick connect for convenience but originally just tied off to it. Yes it does bend. But a bend is part of the deal it keeps from pulling out. Check out the stick it website you will see that when tied off they bend, when stuck through a mount or transom handles they stay straight for the most part. For heavier boats I would suggest the 3/4"X10' rods

SYG, if your local Grainger don't stock it just have them will call it and it won't cost ya shipping, otherwise the shipping is almost as much as the rod.

I was thinking that two 1/2" (front&back) would work. A 1/4" bigger is over double the price of two 1/2".
