While pondering weather information for Saturday whether to cancel
tournament of continue with what might be an ugly day for all concerned.

Bill Bercaw /myself along with 1 other team did prefish Tarpon.

Spider riggin 8 poles - single jigs mylar - tubes - curly tails & moons,
all minnow tipped.
At 6:15 middle to eastside fish were popping top of water - no heavy
action but as daylight broke water became very quiet, no wind - placid.
Still with no action -
We varied baits from 3ft - 12ft - still nothing.
Worked contours of 6 - 8 - 10 - 12 ft from Pierce point to Reeds on Northeast
corner. Zip - nata.
While this was going on - continued to check on how many teams were
planning on comming to tournament - weather conditions etc.
Barametric pressure was continuing to flux.

By time we reached NE turn point in 10ft had taken 5 fish -
1 - Gar
2 - small spec's maybe 6 - 7 in
2 - Spec's 1 lb 9 oz & 1 lb 8 oz.

By 9:30 other team working Westside of lake
had taken nothing.............also spider rigging.

10:17 am, team 2 hit a couple pods 11 ft water and took 12 keepers, lost
couple keepers.

11:30am any kind of bite stopped and remained until 1:30 pm when we
pulled plug.

Did journey to south end of lake to check brush piles - found 2 fishermen
that had been there since sunup. One had caught 4 keeps and 1 bass,
other had caught no keepers and 2 cats.

Bother men were pulling corks, tipped minnows & grass shrimp

Just a turned off day for Tarpon which is very unusual.................
