Did not go to weigh in and dont know results. But this one had to be more a test of endurance than fishing. It was pure miserable by 10 and they had another 5 hours to go. Hope they all had plenty fluids on board.
From what i heard most everyone came away ok........
There were no "first timers" on the waters.....although you are correct it was flat glass calm till 11:30am

Yesterday... was the Hottest Day yet of the year for Me... between pure sun.. absolutely no wind.. and humidity... it was Hot HOT HOT... Drank six bottles of water and 3 gatorades and was lookin for more... I have never seen Monroe that calm for that long.. went from pure calm till 1 PM to white caps in 15 minutes.. thats fishin...
Darryl said it was 95 surface temp, water temp was 94. heat index was 109.
Man thats hot.............also you correct - receive no wind / breeze till arnd 1pm
Believe it or not there were fish caught.
It was HOT and not the fishing. We did manage to catch about 15, lost a good one. The wind was calm and sun was bright, the fish were scattered and most came out of 7' of water. Colors were gray ghost, butter scotch and gold did the best. Our team only managed 5 lbs 12 oz out of seven fish bag. I think we need to fish from 6:30 - 12.30 in the months of June to middle of Sept. Just a thought. Always good to fish and see everyone. See you at the next one, Lake Walk in Water.
