Default How i spent July 2016

    Back surgery update.

I should have written the month of July off in my life

Went into hospital on July 5th to have Laminectomy (Spine surgery of L1-2-3-4-5 & foraminomy l5 & S1

Was released on July 9th, approx 5 1/2 in of stitches (19)

Returned on July 20th - had stitches removed -

July 22nd around 7pm - had a shooting unbelieable pain up my back - equal to about a 12 -14 on pain scale

This continued through night - by mid morning Sat was unable to get out of bed due to pain

Had my Health Care nurse come by to check me out - she advised to go to hospital for further test,
went down to the NEW Hospital at Summerfield - they ran ekg - mri - x-rays - couple blood tests - and suggested that
that since TGH had done surgery - that i return to them for further check out.
Got to make trip from Soummerfield to TGH via Ambulance - told them i didn't need the lights - whistles & siren

Arrived around 10:30pm TGH - ran some tests
They really helped out on the pain killer - i don't have any idea what it was - but it was good
Woke up Sunday morning in operating room with a complete team on hand to work on me, along with my
nerosurgeon. The opened up my back again, cleaned out any and all infection they could see, then flushed out
the wound, sewed me back up and sent me upstairs to recoup and figure out what i had incountered.

It was discovered i had a "staff infection" not of the mersa kind - but it was about number 3 on bad list.
Woke up with two drain tubes in back - much much Antiobotics being pumped into me

Was released on July 31st - 6pm - home now, but am on Antiobotics induced into Pick line in arm every 8 hrs for next
6 weeks. - No medicare or insurance supplement coverning this unless i were to have stayed in hospital for another
6 weeks, bummer - i would have gone nuts....I'l spend he $2,000.00 to be at home

Thats my fun time for the month of July.

    Harold,

Here's hoping when the infection has been cleared, that the surgeries performed, have released the pressure on your spinal nerves and you can live again without PAIN!
What time is it? IT'S CRAPPIE TIME!

    Thank you so much Marvin,
Thank you for well wishes - its been a long trip over past year
Triple by-pass-femoral & back surgery. I Don't wish this on anyone - but it had to be done before i became to
old that they wouldn't touch me, as it was they were somewhat worried about the heart situation.
Again, thank you for your thoughts - hope to get with you on water again
