Unfortunately you are right. I have known of two people that have had boats stolen. They were later recovered totally stripped down.

This is absolutely terrible. Sorry to hear this Marv. I hope you recover your boat intact and the thieves are locked up in Polk County.

Update: boat recovered. she's stripped down pretty bare..Thief advertised on Craigslist the the terrova trolling motor. Requested a picture and there was enough to see it was sitting on the deck of my boat..partial picture of his house also..Police was able to find it. just a couple miles from me on the east side of town..investigation still pending..thief allowed to go free..go figure.

Glad you found it. Sorry for its current state. Hope your prosecutor will get justice for you. Bet it wasn't the first boat he stole.

I think i would also call progressive and tell them about it..
