Finally a little cooler weather has come to
Florida - Saturday opened with 48 degree
temp. (down from 73-74 temps past week)
Fish seemed to be a slugglish mode - not
heavy on bite- little lake Sante-Fe producing better than big lake. Most all
entries were in Long-line mode.
Nineteen (19) teams set out to beat
last years big fish of 1 lb. 9.5 oz. -
7 fish weight of: 7lbs 5.0 oz.
Barametric Press 7am - 30:21 on rise
maxing to 30:27 at 11am. Wind was
very miserable from get-go. 10.4 mph
out of NNE at 7am - moving up/down
very little till noon - mostly out of NNE-
North. Started gusting to 19.1 mph at
12:30 - up/down low being 12.2 by 2pm

Lake Tarpon is excellant fisher, with
many 1 - 1 1/2 lb eater fish avail,
lake is known for its 2 pound plus fish,
in middle Florida's west coast.
Water is med - heavy stained - depth of
25 - 4 ft. multi holes, drop-offs, weed
lines, reeds, lilly pads and many brush
piles throughout lake.
