I am so glad you are starting to mend Harold.. Sounds to me like it wasnt fun at all... But... You are strong and positive..and you will get thru this ordeal.. just do what the Doctors say..and take some time to get better.. the fishin isnt worth a hoot right now anyway... Cant wait to see you back on the crappie trail... Mike

    8/11/15 Tripple by-pass update, 3 plus weeks.

Still moving around slow..........went to cabin last Thurs 6th, to recoop-relax etc.
Coarse there set the "big O" and i promptly went to checking it out, hoping all
dials, gauges, and misc items worked - (coarse not -how stupid of me, nothing ever
works 100% when you buy it used)
As i moved around boat to work on it, discovered i still got tired (real tired) quite
easy, little dizzy, balance is still somewhat off (just slow) steps to from leni - boat
were ever to slow. Blamed a lot on heat - paid close attention to my pills etc.
Was ever grateful to next door neighbor (Mike Wallace) for helping out with where
he was needed and took extra steps to hold me down.
Found out couple things - still have long way to recover and not push it - got to
watch that 2 -3 wks after this type surgery that things don't come unraveled, build
fluid on heart, pressure on body - whereby things go up side down.

    Progress on boat commin along.
Trolling motor ready to set - when finish fibreglassing old holes in deck mount
    (this comming week end)
Wiring complete regarding changing over from 36 volt t0 24 volt system.
Original marine batteries found to be bad - replaced with new AC Delco Voager
Rear - oxygenator on live well working and wired correctly
Rear - water pump to well wrking along with recycling unit
Front lights & rear running lights now working.
Ignition to fire unit put in order (removed "hotfoot", went back to idle, advance
and speed control by handled by hand)
New upholtery - installed on 2 seats - two more to go.

Work needing done: find and set up live wiring for front depth finding
find and rewire front live well pump, circulation system, oxygenator
Rewire real of boat to handle console depth finder and equipment.

Mount new rod holders up front and install rear rod holders.

Thanks again to all who have called, sent messages and come by...............
    really makes person feel good.

    August 18th - 4 1/2 wks after surgery

Still somewhat weak when moving around - try to walk or at least keep track of
how i move around each day ( average about 1/2 - 3/4 mi)
Breathing still somewhat slow - do not breath deep ?
Today - 2 doctor appointments (heart doctor & surgeion who cut me open)
hopefully will get release so i can drive (Carole, bless her sole, is my driver, i'm in
back behind her - can only see back head rest and portion of windshield) what an
    experience that is.
Still cannot lay on boat to work on wiring harness to front -still cannot extend arms
out to max. Discomfort of chest continues (around the clock) heat of day seems to
sap my body more and more - getting to like ice tea more
Consumption of mixed drink or a beer is completely out of question -mind/body kinda
    go a little nuts.
Body continues to let you know if its getting tired - better rest, don't have to sleep
as much past week or so.
Enough of ramble - will update next week - tight lines to all

Update - 7 wks after tripple bypass surgery.

Got release from Surgeon & assistant - to start driving - no longer have to
    driven by Carole.
Not allowed as of yet to fish until week of 9/26/15........holding me to the 5 lb
lift thing. Even when i start spec fishing again - cannot pickup rods of more than
10 ft in length - Stress of lift involved put on chest and mending of bones/muscles
    (bummer)
Still having trouble on breathing situation (shortness of breath) body wanting to
cough ( using inhaler twice a day to counteract this)
Chest area still very, very sensitive to touch - even bothers me to wear t-shirt.
Walking on average of 1 - 1.5 mi per day - tried to peddle 3 wheel trike Monday,
leg muscles - thigh area in big time pain tuesday-wednesday - (out of shape)

Continue to mess with boat: put down in water with assistnace of Ken Hamilton,
on Monday - checked out live wells, pumps, circulators, filing propertly - leaks etc
oxygen bubblers working ok. Bilge working ok. 1 depth finder ok - may have to
raise slightly to keep from cavataton air pocket situation.
Motor fired, pumped water, purred like kitten, sounded better than my ole 115.
By putting in water - was first time since purchase on Febr 26th, took big stress
    off my mind.
Worked speed up to around 60 mph, trim tabs balance worked fine.
Found that as you lower trim tabs into water speed reduced on top end by 5 -7 mph
Installed 2 sets (4 ea) Spyder Loc's up front - do not like way they wobble slightly
when touched - moving them to rear for long-line use, ordered 2 sets (4 ea) Tite-Loc's for upfront along with extra track so a can move around as needed.
Will deliver boat to trailer manufacture monday (9-14) they will start building
new tandem axle alum - led's, radials & braking system.
Also upholster will take measurements on new cover.

Thanks again to all who have sent/called regarding my health - hoping for quick
recovery - very, very much appreciated.

Boat is looking right sporty Harold. At least you can run it around looking for brushpiles etc. until your able to fish again.

Hadn't thought about that Mike.........good idea..............
Wife double checked boat before Ken and i took it to launch - made sure no rods
    on board...
Also wanted us to find someone to help finish loading process (cranking) to lock.

Big, big stress relief when - put her in water, stated up and everything pretty
much worked - like it was suppose to.
Motor not be tested since sending to Marine shop in Febr pretty much worried me,
let alone various pumps, arerators, circulators - timers - working correctly when
never being water tested or work related tested.
Veins went to almost nothing in neck per Kenny - especially when i picked up
speed and started working trim alignment for balance.

    Man i love this boat.........

Awesome news on your recovery my friend. You were in my thoughts more than a few times. Feels good seeing and reading you up and about a bit. Having surgery this year myself was a *****, but nothing compared to your journey. Your body will heal given the time and patience. Your an inspiration.

on a completely different note...............what timing on picking up the awesome new rig. its gotta be HARD just kinda staring at it. I'm surprised your wife isn't hiding the keys somewhere. Think smart and continue to heal up........ many days to enjoy still ahead.
