7 am, Day opend, overcast, 74 air temp,
water temp at 80.4, bara press 30:14,
rising. Calm wind.
Air temp continued to rise reaching 93.4
sunning, few clouds by 2pm. Most
anglers were "well done, cooked" by than.
Water temp up 85. Wind S. 9.2mph.
Early bite was average to good till 9:55a
bara press 30:16, pressure went 30:17,
bite stopped till 11:45 resumed when
press hit 30:16 again. stopped 12:14pm,
pressure started down - fish went to
suspended mode - very very few hits.
Water level 1 1/2 - 2ft below last year
same time - somewhat difficult for launch
along with winds & rain combination past couple days made shallow lake look very
black, mucky, muddy looking.
Twenty (24) competitors elected to
take Newmans 5,800 acre lake on,
looking for those 2 lb plus fish known
to be in it. (Friday June 12th, a pre-fish
of 12 lbs, 4.0 oz was taken- with big fish
being a 2 lb 7 oz) by Darryl Cole.
Another known fact about "Spec's in
Newman are very strong- when they
hit - will give you a feeling of gar or
big cat strike (be ready - they are
for real)
