CROOKED LAKE,
5,534 ACRES OF SPRING FED WATER,
little staining of water....
probably one of the deepest lakes in state
of Florida. has multi levels (no fish bowl)
holes, drop-offs, brush piles, reeds, kissimmee grass, rock ledges, shell beds,
very little hydrillia. It is not pressured like
most lakes due to having only one public access. It is a regular location for large
shell crackers, blue gillsers.with multi
bass tournaments being held.
THIS WILL BE FIRST TIME FCC WILL
HOLD A TOURNAMENT ON THIS LAKE.
According to owners Bobs Landing, no
crappie tournament has ever been held
here, but they have, over the years seen
monster spec's of 16 - 18" big come out.
This will be a good lake to challenge all
FCC members skills to catchin "Ole Mr.
Crappie" - everyone will be on an equal
playin field.
Note: one member of club was on pre-
fish Saturday - due to rains commin in
at 1:30pm had to come in but had
caught three (3) spec' s in range of
14 - 15.25 inches (weight of 1 lb - 12.3
oz.) - spider riggin in 25 ft water
Highway 27 south of Lake Wales to
640, turn left (east) i miles merge onto
Alt 27 for 5 miles, turn left onto Cody
Villa road, go straight till till you see
Marinia on left in valley, approx 2 mi.
