You are correct. But some ran as far south as Crescent Lake.

Now thats a pull by boat.

I have access to Mobile Home on Kissimmee Lake, saw Bass Tournament Sat/Sun (2 day)
had 87 boats in it , people pulled from Georgia to fish, Stratos Boats only tournament.
Some of those guys with the $80 -90,000 rigs ran south through 3 sets of locks to fish
the river (quiet & out of wind, lower fishing pressure) and do all of this in less than 8 hr
from start to back at weigh in......now thats burning some fuel, short time to fish, push
everything to outer limits of sanity. AT $3.91 gal - i watched these guys dump 8 & 9
5-gal cans a night into those boats..........Winners actually came out Kissimmee Lake.
No idea what pay-off was or how many positions.. A lot of those guys are everyday
working people, not the pros or pro-ams (but pros were there along with factory
backed teams etc.) ( i couldn't afford $300 plus for boat fuel alone for tournament,
not counting time needed to pre-fish the lake and/or area.)

I think there would be a decent turnout if more tourneys were up our way. If more are up here that will be good if not it will be ok too.

65Pontiac, wasn't that nothern tournament held at Pacettis Marina or something of that
nature ? It was a river fish style tournament... Your team finished pretty good am i not
correct.? Can you remember how many teams participated ? Was there any further
discussion at that tournament about future tournaments ?
In reading past posts, seems Sante-fe - as well as Lochloose, Orange might be good,
another reason why Orange & Lochoosa were put on tournament schedule this year to test for additional attamdance.

fishin813, your expectations cant be too high for the first couple tourneys up this way. You cant expect alot of people to show up for the first time, it may take a few. I would guess prob 3-5 new faces would show up and prob a few more the next year and a few more the next. there are alot of people who speck fish around here that doesnt get on CDC and there are ALOT of people who get on here and read all these threads and dont post that may show up as well. Im not gonna kill myslef tryin to have tourneys up this way, we will just have our own. Im thinking about starting something up this summer if i can get someone to help. Thinkin bout having a tourney every month from Sep of this year thru May of next year. Prob will not have too big a turnout but i have already talked to the guy at the baitshop in Keystone and he said he will help promote it so we will just have to wait and see what happens.

Thanks for update and thoughts, at this time not planning on expanding to North unless
there could be a talk of enough support.............Really going through learning curve on starting
    this Western Div.............
We started with 2 tournament never reported on CDC, or using Fla Crappie Club as primary.

Was listed as Crappie tournament amateur event with 100% payback with 4 postions
and big fish. Also put a point system that people who entered could earn points and
we put two rod/reels (BnM & Shakespeare Micro spinning) up as prizes for overall
    combined of both tournaments..............This generated 11 & 14 teams...
Also prompted the start of Western Div, using 4 counties in area.........
As you can see to date we have had only a 4 boat - a 4 boat & 7 boat entries.
But if things are on a positive growth move. Winter Haven-Auburndale area did not
come up to potential, hence change to Walk-in-Water lake, very popular spec & bass
lake in eastern polk county. Flyers, bait shops- local resturants in area will be contacted for possible assistance, flyers will be distributed at Walk-in-Water boat ramp

Hope your plan gets off ground and runnin...........good luck - will support you where
ever possible.............you have my cell & e-mail address

Yes at Pacettis, that was the 11th year of holding that tournament. Most people fished the creeks off of the river and a couple ran south to some lakes. There were 37 boats entered.

I would like to get a schedule for 2011. I understand that there is not a tournament in August. I tried to get a schedule at Sandys bait shop but they were all out. Could email me at [email protected] Thanks
