fishin813, maybe you guys should call it CENTRAL FLORIDA CRAPPIE CLUB. Then there would not be all the question about having it in noth florida.

Haha yeah, cause it sho aint no tourneys in true north Florida. How bout a Jacksonville Crappie Club Pontiac? We could have tourneys on Sante Fe, Rodman, Crescent, Black Creek, Orange, Loochloosa, and Georges Lake. All we need is someone to start it up....hint, hint. lol

Sounds good, but I think I will stick with the Slabfest. Great bunch of guys and willing to travel north, south, east or west. Have been thinking of hosting a slabfest at the trout creek park maybe in Oct. or Nov. Across the creek is Paccetti's and they have camping and a few motel rooms. Like to see what the lake dwellers can do against us creek rats.

Dude!!! Come on!!! Can't go giving up all the secrets. Actually had to toss the only ringer I had in Louisiana when a warden came flyin up on a buddy and me when we was teens. Luckily the delta mud swallowed it fast and we had some poles in the boat. Butt was mighty sore for loosin the ringer, couldn't have imagined if I had lost the ringer and got throwed in jail.

For two years we heard most of same things you are saying about the West and amore
central area of Florida, hence, this year we added the Western Div and put in 6 dates.
Three being in Central part of state, Winter Haven Chain, where most of people wanting
more localized tournaments lived.........(2 came to first tourament & 2 came to second)
We personally went to various bait & tackle shops, for discounts, resturants in area opened early with discounted meals for entrants
met with sports dept of Lakeland Ledger, etc. etc.

Two additonal dates were also added to North Divison - those being Orane & Lochloosa

Anyone can fish the classic at Crecent Lake at end of the year, providing they have
fished a min. of 4 tournaments out of 19 during the schedule. 20th position last year
at classic got the team, complete dinner, and $235.00 worth of prizes.........
Everyone is a winner in this Club..................

We have two teams that travel to almost all events that live in Ft Lauderdale area,
now thats a pull.............I myself live in Riverview, other teams live in Ruskin, Dover
Seffner, Bradenton & Jupiter area....we may not make all tournaments, but we sure
give it a try...........fishing different lakes, really make a good fisherman.
The challenge to learn to overcome and catch no matter the elements or water is
    very satisifying
We have entertained 5 Divisions: North - Central - Eastern - Western & Southern
and rotating the Classic each year to the a host division........this takes time, planning
and execution. People need to want to get involved.........and become part of:
This is a great State and and we probably have the best year-round fishery available

Sorry about the soap box oratory -

I more thing to think about...talk it over, how many people do you know that would
want to fish tournaments in your area............Give yourself a boat count ...how many
of you in the Northern part of the state are really serious about it and would be willing
    to support a movement.

I can think of 3 CDC members and probably 6 non CDC. There is only 1 tournament a year in this area and that is in February. The last one had 37 entries. So if the word got out to them that would probably be another 10 or more. Now that's just me. Lets see what others have to say.
