Steelhead fishing is all done here. Returns were so bad they closed everything early this month. Glad someone is catching them.

Congrats on the catch, 14 fish for 4 people is an awesome haul anywhere for steelies.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

The Nisqually river near Olympia used to be great for Native Steelhead. Huge fish, so big you would have thought they were kings. Not so much anymore. I remember great runs on the Wynochee and Satsop river as well but that is a thing of the past.

Satsop and Wynoochie still produce huge natives you just can't keep them. Saw a 25+ 2 years ago, chrome bright hen that had to be put back. Was a shame but if the native runs get any worse we will won't have any fishing at all so everyone that knows better won't keep a native anymore around here.
