    Default Funny fishing/ boating stories

I will start with 2 that were told to me. A little background first. The guy who told me these was a friend I worked with. We were talking about tracker boats one night at work and I mentioned I wanted one. Bass pro had recently opened and my friend lived a couple miles from it. He went and looked at them and purchased one the next day. Knowing him as well as I did, I put off buying one. He got bored easily and I figured I would get his at a discounted price later. Sure enough, less than six months later I got it for about a 35% discount. lol

    1. Picture this. Guy pulling a glass bass boat with a very small truck. Definitely undersized. Backs up to launch after prepping and boat doesn't come off easily. Does he get out and check? No, he pulls up and backs up a little harder and faster. Hits the brake. Well the boat floated, but he still had the winch strap attached. Momentum starts pulling the truck and the wheels are spinning, but the boat kept going. Pulled the truck in and sunk it. That pulled the boat down and sunk it also. My friend swore this was true. The guy gets out and my friend and his nephew can't immediately help the guy from laughing so much. The guy was not laughing. Took a wrecker to get his rig out.

    2. Same guys. My friend and his nephew. Same tracker boat. They are trolling and nephew kneels down on the back to pee. Trolling motor hits a stump. Well of course he falls in. When he comes up, he does not see my friend. Gets a little panicked. But when he come up the side he sees his uncle, my friend rolled up on the floor with tears running down from laughing so hard. All the nephew says is " man I fell in my own bubbles"
    lol

One of my best was , watch these fools episodes was years ago .
Four guys , fast to the ramp , hit the boat like fire ants
Seemed they had it going on . They were ready in less than 5 to launch .
One in the boat , one in the truck and into the water they went .
The 2 on the ramp watching excitedly.
Fires up the motor and hits reverse . Boat don’t budge .
Backs the rig in deeper , guns the boat motor …still no go ….
Goes deeper , still nothing , 2 on the ramp start pushing on it ….
Guns the motor some more …..still no go
Me trying to ketch fish off the dock totally distracted…
Finally give up and pull it back out …
Look it over hard and start the SAME routine.
By this point I can see the straps on the back still hooked up ….
Out of the water again and the 4 are starting to get frustrated.
This went on for 4 dunks till they realized they forgot the transom straps ….
And they appeared to be sober … go figure ….

Left the boat key on on late evening in late Oct (Alum Creek in Cols, Ohio). SOs signaled to another boat to no avail. Pulled out the 2-3 ft paddle that came with my Tracker and started rowing. Wife says how about the trolling motor? DOH

Make it back to the ramp trailer in water and this ole fat man strips to his drawers cause I couldn’t load the boat with the main engine. Walking back to the boat after disrobing I stub my toes on a big ole bolt sticking up through the dock. I get into the ice cold water and proceed to get the boat on the trailer by hand.

ease the boat out without dragging the casket. For the next hour we worked to raise the motor enough to put the transom support on for the 2 hour ride home.

ordered a lithium jump pack the next morning and made sure I have a full set of metric and SAE wrenches on board now…it wasn’t funny at the time but I chuckle about it now. At least I had dry clothes for the drive home.

    Cheers
