Makes for some great memories
I was there and 2 boats and 5 anglers witnessed this story , we rolled up to a drop off and pitched our jigs in a spread formation , most towards the shelf and returning to the deeper water.
H sets the hook first pitch as my other buds rolled up AND >>>>>
The BIGGEST buffalo I ever seen came out of the water like a marlin ! It jumped so high my eyes about popped right out of my head and to top it off ....it was simply HUGE !
Easily some kind of record fish for sure , around 4 feet long and 24 inches tall at least and looked like a beachball FAT ....told him dont lose it bro and KABOOM on the next jump !
I am here to tell you this about that , bet it went in the 50 lb range and NEVER EVER seen a buffalo jump , much less that high !
I will never forget that sight and all H kept saying was I never had a fish that big on my line before ......
man I wish we ran a video of that fight , it was a short one, but I swear it was the stuff legends are made of ......

buddy and I were on his boat at Reelfoot when he said "fish on" and fight was on. It was a monster on a lake known for huge buffalo's and all kinds of rough fish. he couldn't budge it, had his crappie rig and when fish realized he was caught he took off dragging the boat along. after 20 minutes or so he had me take over and I just held on for a while, all the time boat was being pulled, and started pumping to get it up and it was coming. just saw a glimpse of it in the muddy water and it was a monster, biggest fish I had on in my life but right then it turned and snapped the light line. But KABOOM it was a load of fun!
