Awsome there!! Thank your son for us all!!
My oldest son and I have been wanting to go to the amazon after peacock bass. With him being in the Airforce time together has been maybe seeing each other for only a couple of days thru the year for about fourteen years. He now is stationed in North florida so we get together a little more often, so we decided to go to south Florida in search of some of the peacocks that florida has to offer. I did some research and there are about ten locations that the FWC has stocked these little fighting machine's. Locations are from West Palm south to Miami Dade. They love live bait and small top water plugs, so stocked up on bait and went south. We got there about mid morning and it was raining, we call it liquid sun shine. Fishe for the next day and a half and did pretty good. Boated 22 peacocks and three mayans and half a dozen largemouth. Here are a few pics...........hope you enjoy. If Admin can rotate that would be great.

Man, that had to be exciting, great post and pics.
What ??? No Oscars ??
Those peacock bass are some fighting machines, or so I've heard. Glad you got to take the son out & put him on some. Thank him for his service, from this ol Army vet.
Unfortunately, the admin. can't rotate your pics (that I know of) ... cellphone pics taken with the phone straight up/down will translate to 1/4 turn to the left when posted on this site. Only thing I know to fix that is to always take pics you want to post on here ... with the top of the phone pointing to the right. Unless you're taking a "selfie", then point it to your left.
I don't understand all I know about why it does that ... but, it's got something to do with the site not recognizing the orientation code (or sumpin like that )

Thanks Davedirt, brings back good memories. Fished for peacock bass in Panama several times while there on duty and really enjoyed catching them. Loved the top water action for sure. It started raining so hard one afternoon our guide wanted to go back but we just kept on fishing while he covered up with a trash bag and muttered something about crazy Americans
