    Default Boat/trailer accident

    BOAT/TRUCK ACCIDENT
On May 24th 2009 my wife and I were going fishing and we put the boat in the water, then I was pulling the trailer out of the water to park it, and my wife yelled, I put the truck in park and jumped out to see what was wrong. She said the rope was caught on the trailer, I noticed that the truck was rolling backwards and I tried to jump in it to stop it. The door hit me in the back of head and knocked me out and down and I rolled down the ramp into the water unconscious. The truck continued to roll into the water and ran over me at that time. My wife dropped the rope holding the boat and ran to me to help me, she took the phone out of my pocket to call 911 but the water had ruined the phone; I regained consciousness and crawled to the grassy area by the ramp. The truck had turned to the right and continued into the water pulling the trailer to the left side of the truck where it got wedged by the open door. My wife swam to the truck and put it in 4 wheel drive and brought the truck and trailer out of the water onto the ramp. She got out of the truck and I got in it to park it. I hobbled to the dock to retrieve the boat, but I could not reach the rope my wife swam out to the boat and brought me the rope and we finally got it tied off to the dock. I then got the truck and trailer back into the water and proceeded to load the boat on the trailer, again my wife had to swim to the boat to push the back end around to load the boat correctly on the trailer. After tying it down to the trailer my wife drove us home where she unhooked the trailer and then drove me to the hospital. It’s now about 10 am I was giving a cat scan and x-rays, and had bruises to my ribs and legs and a broken left ankle in two different places. They kept me in the hospital for2 nights until about 3pm on Tuesday May 26th I was released to come home. My Wife is my Hero.

Glad you came out as well as you did. That could have been fatal. Two thumbs up to your wife on her reactions.

Awfully glad the truck missed you while you were out. And your wife sure is a special girl. Good for her.
