Default Frog giggin on the river

A couple of summers ago I decided to do some frog giggin over on the Oklawaha river. I loaded up my little 12' Sears boat and launched at the Eurika ramp. It was almost dark when I started up river. I didn't bring my outboard and was usein my trollin motor so I could be stealthy. I figured I'd motor up the river a few miles and then drift back to the ramp. I was slowly easeing along with batterie powered headlight on just puttin my gig on the end of the pole and gettin my gear ready before it got plumb dark. I was going along close to the bank when I heard somethin in the bushes. Just as I scanned the bank above me with the light a 9 foot gator spooked and jumped for the water. That dang lizard timed his jump just right. He jumped on the front of my boat and turned it bottom side up. I wish someone had been there to video the wreck. It would have won $10,000 on "Funniest Home Videos". Here's an old one legged fat guy trashin around next to his capsized boat wonderin if that big lizard was somewere close. I got the boat turned back over and gathered what gear I could find floatin around the area. I managed to get back in the boat in one piece. I guess the gator fled the area. Proly thought that crazy human splashin around in his river wouldn't make a good meal. Guess I was pretty lucky, the only thing that was lost in the wreck was the trollin motor batterie, flashlight and my pride. I decided to forget about giggin and headed back to the ramp to dry out.
I'm having an "out of money" experience.

Live gators in the boat can be scary if they are more than a couple of feet long.

I only fish on days of the week that end with
a "Y" ...and then, only if it's raining or not.
