no thank you crappiecali and di you are both still in ther proticking all of us thank you
I come from a large military family. My grandfather was in WW2, my father and a few uncles were in Vietnam. I enlisted in 95 and have been to the Middle East a few time for different campaigns. Everytime my dad and I go fishing he says he's proud of what I do. But I know deep in my heart if it wasn't for the him and the men and women like him that served long before I was born that my father and I wouldn't be able to fish and live in the greatest nation in the world. Thank you to all the vets.

Thanks for the very good story!! I served 25 years in the Army, our son has served the last three years in the Navy and we haven't seen him in 24 months, but hope to see him soon. I thank every servicemember I meet! They make a huge sacrifice and most know we appreciate all they do! Bruce
was with the 101st Airborne in Viet Nam in 1966 & 67, I for one appreciate the site. Still love to crappie fish..
Hi doj. Was there 66 & 67 also. 1st Marine Div. All the service guys are my brothers!!
This is a great story and I am very proud to say that I am behind our soldiers and veterans.
My story is a little different but it shows that young or old soldiers are proud of what they do.
About six months ago I met a Marine at a party. He had just gotten back from Afghanistan and said that he would probably be redeployed to Iraq.During uor conversation he hesitated as he was asked by another person if he had ever killed anybody, His response was only that he had been in firefights and he was still alive. Later when we were alone I told him I did not think that was an apropriate question and I apologized for the other person. He told me I need apologize because a lot of people ask that question thinking it is cool to kill. He said he did not like to talk about killing because it was very difficult to kill and even harder to live with. He said telling other people was not right because it is a very private thing and he is not proud of the killing but is very proud of the job he is doing for his country.
After talking to him I realized that at the age of 23 he is more of a man than I will ever be.
Let's just rememmber what these guys are doing for us. It is a tough job and they will have to live with what they have done for the rest of their lives.
PLEASE BE PROUD OF AND SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!!
