Default Help me decide on a Lowrance unit?

I am looking for a good unit for the front of my boat that won't break the bank. I know I am going with Lowrance beause of many recommendations from friends, but I need some opinions from those who have used them. The x96, x135, or x510c are the ones I have narrowed it to for now. I can't drop the $$$ on one of the HD units right now and need a dependable FF. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'd really like to know also if the x96 really stands up as well to the higher priced units as the "reviews" on the BPS site say it does. Thanks in advance.

You know the ole' standby...the X135 is a really good unit overall. I wish they still made the X17. It had a 7" screen and the unit was/is the best of the monochromes, in my opinion.

SpeckWick, if you can still get a 510c,,, RUN as quick as you can to get it. One of the most for the buck color units out there. <*)}}}><

Don't get the X135, be in the shop with the problem of not turning off, I would look more to Humingbird. They have really made a move with their DFs and turn around is about athird of Lowances

I had an X-15 and it served me well. Now I have the LCX-27C. So far it is working fine. But if my pocket book was thicker I would get a Humming bird 1197 side finder. I think thats the number.
