Program integrity checking must be crap for this to happen.
OK I was one of the ones that put the latest updates on my 997 and matrix 97, before resetting defaults. Since then I have had odd issues like depth going crazy, temperature readings in the negative numbers and weird looking displays while in 2 D setting. I've read elsewhere that I may have to send the unit back to h'bird to be re-programmed/re-booted. Is this correct? Can I do it myself using h'bird pc? If I send it/them back, how long will I be without the units?
Joby, I know you wanted to see a recording of what the unit's were displaying. If you would like to see them in person, let me know.
Any help would be appreciated.

Is the firware update the same procedure h'bird is performing when a unit is sent back to resolve the update prior to reset default issue? Thanks for the help.

Mine is fixed now since i put the older version back on.
FISH-ON!!!!!
I would believe the procedure would be the same. You can download the previous firmware release and put it on an sd card then power your unit up. The unit will detect the firmware (on power up) and query you if wish to install the older version.
I could be wrong. I had no problems with my upgrade except depth issues.
The screen refresh at slow speeds still sucks. I work around it. Shouldn't have to though.
