Default At dark I get extra returns on my hbird depthfinder

I have one of those Humminbird 120 Fishin' Buddy poratble depthfinders. When the sun goes down I get extra returns on the screen that do not show up during the day. It looks like soft returns from weeds on the bottom. Only happens when it gets dark.

If it happened during the day then I would think I was over a weed bed. But I can see it start to happen at dusk and gets a little more defined as it turns totally dark. Weird. Do other people see this happen? What's going on?

how about this, when the sun is shining the glare cuts down on the visibility of the screen when it gets darker some of the lighter gray shades show up that can't be seen in the sun. the best pic's will come in total darkness. just a possibility don't know for sure.
