Default Looking at buying a new fishfinder?

Looking to buy a new fishfinder? The Lowrance X510c looks good but what
lines up with it in the Humminbird side? And what do you think about a color
    fishfinder? Model verse Price.

Try a 3 color flasher at 1/2 the price of a color graph.

Probably the Eagle 320 ($139). I would recommend a HB 718 ($200) to someone that wants a good b/w sonar though.

I have the humming bird 525 for about $110 it has temp and zoom draws a good picture of the stumps and brush piles so you know exactly you are fishing down there. The shad and fish show up good also.

I have owned humming bird for years and they stand up good. This one i am running on the troll motor.

i run an older wide 128 on dash.

but for the money the 525 is a great unit.

my son is running a color and they dont have the clear bottom reading and most of the pros are going back to black and white for the better more clear reading.

To the original question, the 510C is a great unit, but keep in mind that it has been discontinued and is being replaced by the HDS unit. Also, rather than buying a 510C, I'd buy an X520C and just don't get the GPS puck. It'll have all the functionality of the 510 and exactly the same specs, but if you want to later, you can buy the GPS puck and add that feature for another say $150-$200. Contact Bargain Prices on Marine Electronics! and ask for Cindy or Justin. Good prices, great service. Also, they can swap the ducer out from the standard to the trolling motor ducer at no extra cost.

I second the comment, buy a 3 color flasher, the company is vexilar, For crappie its the ticket, real time as opposed to processing; fish structure exactly where marked and as a bonus more accuracy in a gps mark. I have one and never use my graph anymore. TD
