    My 797 si looses bottom in anything over 18' at slo speeds its good in anything shallower .i have pushed buttons but i cant find the rite one anybody got any clues? Ted

    I'd check transducer mounting. If it works while sitting still and quits when you start moving it's getting air bubbles across it.

    it dont loose bottom because of speed change . it only looses bottom in 18' or more ' ducer is mounted on jack plate .

    Do you have the unit set on bottom lock ? Or do you have it set to read 18' of wter? Check your settings under advanced and or sonar.

    Plantdr the bottom depth reading is working, but the white shading of the bottom fades as i get deeper until it is so faint you cant see it. ted
