What good is 17 foot accuracy of the gps when the target grid leaves at 150 ft?
My goodness man what do you expect for only $2,000.00 dollars? LOL
You no HB could not make what we want, because they want to sell us the all new and improved one in the next year or two for $3,000.00 to $4000.00 LOL.

We take our consumers complaints very serious. But all of know it takes time to get things done. I will add theses comments to our list. If any of you have comment on how to make the product better just shoot me an email so we can add it. We are on the water almost every day testing products. If we do not know about it we can't add it. But we do have to take into consideration that we have to build a product for all types of fisherman.

I know these GPS Icon complaints have been around a long time. Looks like the only fix so far is get a 1197 with a bigger screen so the Icons want look so big. See my point.
New equipment makes the market, no fix on the existing equipment.
Don't get me wrong, I like the sidescan. I don't like the interfacing and I am not along about this part.

i would like to see the tracks on the 787 stay until you erase them without having to save them. I use my unit on the front and console for trolling and running when i move the unit it loses all my tracks that i didn't save. a good example is the garmin 178c gps speed will ready steady at slow speeds below 1.0 mph with the internal antenna my humminbird 787c2i will not had to add a external antenna before it would ready i also agree that the boat icon is too big also in my opinion the navionics maps lack a lot from being as good as the garmin hot spots

Real men troll for crappie (Here Fishy Fishy !)
The one thing Im really struggling with on the 997 is seeing isolated brush piles. Its great on standing timber, logs or trees laying on the bottom, road beds, rocks....all show up like gold. But your everyday standard crappie set is really hard to pick out. I passed by a known large crappie set tonight about 10 times playing with the unit...it shows on the screen but if I didnt know it was there I would most likely miss it. Something like the old "grayline" feature would go along ways in sideimaging. Something to distinguish objects more dramatically in contrasting those objects with the bottom. This is just my 2 cents based on what Ive experienced so far.
CP I,m with you about the brush piles---thats about the only thing I have trouble with
I rezize ? my icons to make them smaller so that helps with clearing the screen ---but I use my Garmin 76 to go to the watpoints [mounted right beside the 997]
