Different is bad (LOL). Stick with an Eagle 320 or 480 FishMark and you'll be fine. Still one of, if not the best bang for the buck.

Need some researching to do. Give me ideas of a decent fish finder for $200. It doesnt need to be color since for that price I'd be getting something alot less pixels and wattage (I figure it would be alot less detailed finder). I've been looking at Hummingbird 565 but need a few more to look at before buying one. I had an Eagle 480 Seafinder and it worked OK. I did something stupid and no longer have it. Was thinking about trying something different. Any suggestions?!?

Do you use the fish id feature, and if not do you get arches for fish?Originally Posted by shadow
I have the 480 and it works good in shollow water. In most cases you will not see a true arch, it will be long, drawed out or a strait line, it depends on how long the fish is under the transducer. the longer the fish is under it, the longer the line will be. Fish arches are over rated, you have to have perfect condition to get a true arch. That's my 2% worth. I never use the fish id. I also have a lowrance ( older X 65 ) It works good too.
I know some that have an x-96 lowrance and some that have a fish mark 480 and they both seem to work well---have seen both of them used---i have a x-135 and i really like it---i can see on mine--the big difference is the power--it seems to have a little to do with it
