Quite a lot of people use them. I've got one sitting on my shelf for a spare but never had to use it.

I had the same problem. It will definetly drive you nuts. Afer trying a few other things, and speaking with Humminbird, I wired the unit directly to the battery with an in-line fuse. I have not had the low voltage alarm in over a year.

All these inputs are good. You may need one or all or a combination of some to fix your problem. Just need to keep swagging.


Like you said though, didn't have a problem til u added the optimas. I don't thing they are all they claim to be (except expensive). I got 2 new Delcos for trolling, a wal mart dual for starting and a Zeus U1 (wheel chair battery) for electronics. I feel your pain.

All my electronics run off Zeus. All 4 aerators and bilge runn off cranker battery. Only trolling motor on the troll batteries. I use 2 dual pro on board chargers.

I don't know what charging circuit your motor has, but I think mine only puts out 15A max. Not much charging going on for short run time.

Everybody's situation is different.

guess what checked ob charger it was bad this whole time been fishin with maybe half charged batteries.

Are optimas agm or gel? new bps charger has little magnet in back for diffrent types.

Another question. Can i use 12v parallel and charge with one side of charger on one battery ?

optimas are agm. You can charge in parallel if they are the same type construction.

don't mix agm with sla , maintenance free, etc. (in parallel).
