    bought a new df cost about 350.00bucks left it on boat in my covered dock with cover on boat along came hot weather put boat in water df read in 10ftdepth read 70ft --70ft.read15ft lowrance said that made it read crazy they said they forgot to tell you not to do that so they fixed it free they say under those condition the temp.gets well over 150plus degrees

    electronics are to expensive to have them leave to live at someone else's house and boat, and the weather although they are made for the weather, aint real good for them in constant exposure

    Due to possible weather damage I take mine in with me. Theft is only a minor consideration where I live.

    On the other hand, if I were travelling with my boat I'd bring in everything off my boat that I could while staying on the road. Stuff grows legs way too easily in a motel parking lot at night.

    its probably me but i think the connection pins can get a little sloppy with constant taking on and off
