    Default Yamaha n lithium

Been wanting to replace led battery with lighter lithium but love been seeing lots of things that say yamaha dont work with lithium . I have a 2006 yamaha 40 hp. And want to know if this is true some say if battery has BMS it will work.
Can someone set me straight. Thanks !

Call or email Yamaha with your questions.

    Very good customer service.

Can't think of anyone who would know their product better than than the actual manufacturer.

    Good Luck

I’m running Impulse’s All Purpose with my 02 90hp Yamaha with no issues. This battery has a BMS on it.

    I agree 100%

Run 2 Impulse 60A/H on one boat and 3 LiTime 100A/H on the other for the T motors.

Run AGM on the crank batteries since one motor is under warranty and the other motor (Yamaha) says not to.

I don't know the type of charging system the OP has in the Yam 40, so I recommended contacting Yamaha directy to be safe.

I run a 100ah impulse lithium starting battery in my 60hp Yamaha. No issues whatsoever in the past 3 years.
