Wanting to change transducer on Helix 7 unit to get better SI views. Does anyone know the advantage of going to XHS 9 HDSI vs using the compact transducer (XNT 9 SI 180, I believe) that comes with FF? Looking at HB website it looks like 800mhz is available for the upgrade but I don't think my Helix 7 supports that. If 800mhz is the only difference and my unit will not accept 800, it want help. Lots of info on Humminbird website but not easy to use. Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks, Ray

Thanks for the link. I read thru that but it does not tell much, The standard transducer I have does not have 800mhz (Helix 7 cannot use 800mhz) if this is the only difference because my unit H/7 can not used 800mhz would I notice a difference? It states this is an upgrade and it may be for some units but is it an upgrade for Helix 7 users that cannot use the 800 frequency? Seems like there would be a better way to explain these, for example unit A and transducer A you get this, with transducer B you get this. Again I appreciate the advise.

WOW, thanks rnvic for the link. Just what I was wanting to know.
I know I'm half blind but honestly I can't see much difference. Actually some of the things on the compact are clearer than the HD and vise versa. The bream beds to the left are clearer on the HD, but the limbs sticking out just below the beds are clearer on the std. It is a sharper image but I think spending another $300 for this difference would not be worth it. Feel like putting that money to upgrading both would be the better option. Thanks Again for the info.!!!
