    Default Garmin Striker Vivid 9SV

Just got the garmin striker vivid 9. Wondering if anybody had one and how good they work? Is it pretty easy to learn how to use it?

I picked up a Vivid 7CV on clearance a couple weeks back. IMHO the downscan and traditional sonar is quite a bit better than the Elite 7Ti that was already on the console. The non-touch screen takes some getting used to (when you have been using a touch) but it is easier to clean spots off it.
If you like maps, turn on the quickdraw and start it recording as soon as you get on the water. It does a real good contour. Also better then the Lowrance I think.

I have an older Vivid 7sv with the 52 transducer. Fine piece of equipment.

I have a Striker 7SV and a Vivid 9SV. Also have 2 other Garmin units.

The factory settings work great for finding structure. You'll see fish but they aren't gonna show up strong cause you have say 100 ft visible on each side and are looking for a 12 inch fish across 200 ft of visible space - it is a speck... Dolphins and manatees show up very well tho.

I use the 9SV offshore for finding structure on public numbers - it makes a big diff in locating the structure.
