    Default Helix update

Do any of y'all update your software on your Sonar unit? I have a Helix 7 I got when I bought this boat, so about 3 years ago. I would have to go look to see if it is a G2 or G3, but I have never updated it, and honestly I wouldn't even know where to start lol. the only reason it is on my mind at all is that, this year it seems to be a bit "clunky". It also seems that in SI view, it seems to scan better to the right than the left. I tested this by turning around 180 degrees and sure enough, thie image that was not the right had more structures and detail than it did on the left side going in the opposite direction. I am also a bit concerned that 3 years is all I am going to get out of this unit, as it cost quite a bit and my other H'birds never died lol.

Look up your exact unit’s model name here for current software version ...
    https://humminbird.johnsonoutdoors.c...ftware-updates

When reading the software details, pay particular attention to if your unit current software might need updating to certain software version before it can be updated to the newest software version ...

If this is the case, there should be a link in the software description to the interim software version needed ...

The dimmer SI could be the transducer doubt an update will change anything, could try reset to factory defaults. Just changed out my SI transducer for the very same reason have not had it on the water yet to verify. Me personally if everything is running like I expect I don`t update unless I add something that requires an update.
