    Default Humminbird ethernet cable question

I did an advance gps upgrade to my ulterra on my new boat. I'm now looking to hook the ipilot link back up. I have two male connections circled in the picture. Can I just get the ethernet cable and connect them since the ethernet cable has two female ends. Other option is to get a new long cable and go from the fish finder straight to the trolling motor head. Name: 20240228_104045.jpg

The lower one in the pic looks like the iLink from the Terrova - is this cable attached to the Terrova ... ??

The upper one in the pic I can’t tell - can you post a closeup pic of this connector ... ??

I think I have a new cable female both ends if that is what you need, let me know it will be yours. Rickie is the man who knows things.

Both ends are males with 8 pins so I do need one with two females as you have. The cable on the boat is coming from the Helix. Lakeside marine told me I would need to replace the whole cable but I'm not convinced that connecting the two male ends with a two female ended cable will not work. I'll send you a PM.

The lower one is coming from my Helix 9. The one on the motor is the exact same. 8 pin male.

If the lower connector in the pic is going to the HELIX - it is the AS EC QDE Ethernet adapter cable which does indeed have a male end ... or if it’s longer than 18” it may be the AS ETH EX30 extension cable ...

If the upper connector in the pic is the same male end and attached to the Terrova - it is indeed the iLink pigtail ...

You should just need an Ethernet cable long enough to reach between the two male ends ...

If you decide to add any other Ethernet device or unit into the mix your going to need the AS ETH 5XPG ...

That is the AS ETH ECX30 extension cable ...

If you need to use that extension cable to reach your HELIX - you will still need a regular Ethernet cable and the AS EC QDE adapter cable to connect to the HELIX ...

Or buy an Ethernet cable long enough to reach from the Terrova iLink pigtail and an AS EC QDE adapter cable (18 inches long) to connect to the HELIX ...

If it will help I can send you the cable, no charge just sitting in a drawer needs to be used.
