I have a Helix 10 mounted with the D size Ram ball and medium length arm. It holds it just fine. It is not on front of boat but am getting same mount for front of boat so I can use built in transducer on my trolling motor.
Regards
I am up grading from a Helix 5 to a Helix 9, I have problems seeing the smaller screen. I will be mounting on the bow of a Grizzly 1648. The trolling motor pedal is mounted in center of deck but not recessed. I would like suggestions on how to mount. The Helix 5 was mounted on two 4" Ram extensions. I am not sure a Ram will hold the larger screen even after up grading to larger ball size.
Have any of you made your own mounts? Can you post some pictures?
Thanks

What size mounts do you have? I have two HDS 12 on a single "D", 2.25" custom mount that I made. each unit is on a "C" mount that is attached to the pole that has the "D" at its base, it's not ideal but it works. A 'D' size mount should be plenty for one 9' unit, IMO.

On the bow I went with Balzout mount two Helix 12`s and it never moves, where my Ram 2 !/2 mount on the dash inconstantly moves with one 12 mounted to it in any rough water.
