Default Am I understanding Humminbird networking?

I'm looking at a used boat. In the back there is a Humminbird G3N but nothing up front. I believe I can buy a basic chirp GPS G4N and network it to the G3N and get the down and side image from it. Is that correct?

Yes you can but the only thing you will see ,what is at the back of the boat as that is where the transducer is. No reason to even have a front depth finder hardly as you really do not even know for sure where you are fishing in relation to the rear transducer and the structure you are fishing.

Thanks, it does have an ulterra with a transducer I can hook into also. I mostly long line so I'm pretty much just looking for depth and speed.
