so how do you mark new way points if livescope is all youre running up front? Dont you need that 2nd unit for maps? Then how do you see them from the driver's seat?

You can mark waypoints from livescope screen just the same as any other screen if you have more units that are compatible each other you will need a network hub everything will plug into it like an old school cable splitter then you can view all screens from anywhere you have a head unit. You can view livescope side image down image and mapping on all units. It’s actually very simple and yet intimidating when you first get everything in front of you.

Thanks. What if you have a HB on console and garmin up front?

I mark waypoints & use side & down imaging with a helix 9 at the console interlinked to a helix 7 at bow that i use to mark waypoints i find when at the bow & show previously marked ones too. I have my garmin livescope on a d i y pvc pole & do a lot of searching with it while sitting up front in a portable bench seat stand & it works pretty good. I don't mark waypoints on my livescope & when i move to previously marked ones i just reduce the range on the helix 7 as i get close & have no problem at all finding them. Works great for me.

Hummingbird and garmin as far as I know there is no way to share waypoints you’ll have to remark them either by punching in coordinates or hover over them and mark them. Easiest thing to do is pick your flavor and go with all the same brand in my opinion. I have three garmins on my boat now. I can view any screen from any unit and mark waypoints on one and it automatically transfers to all the units. Then you can get active captain app for you phone and view maps and your waypoints from your phone. Can kind of plan your day of what and where you wanna start fishing the next trip out

I do the same as you Less scan with side image then run over with down image or go straight to work with livescope either searching more closely or dropping on the fish. It’s pretty neat when you can get it all to work together like it’s intended. Even cooler when the fish are reading the same play book

Also as Less mentioned once you get in the area of your previously marked waypoint from the bird you have no trouble finding your target on the livescope push your range out some and head at it on shin locate it on livescope from there you can do whatever you need to see your jig. Maximize you screen area by bringing range in and depth up to whatever you are fishing but also you actually turn the power of the unit down by doing so or so I’ve read. The unit will up the power if you have it set further and deeper than the actual water column. If that makes any sence. That’s something I have messed with but not sure I’ve seen a difference. I like to make the screen as big as possible once I land on a target

I mentioned earlier in this thread that I just purchased Active Target, but don't have it installed yet. I have seen a ton of videos of Active Target and Livescope and it seems that by setting the depth closer to twice the actual water depth, you get a nicer return and a fish that looks "round" versus looking stretched out and tall. Obviously I'm going to have to get through the learning curve myself, but this is what I'm leaning towards doing, so it doesn't hurt my feelings any if the unit does produce more power and find targets better with that setting.

Correct the only issue I have with doing so is I bought a 12” screen and in my head seems like I’m defeating the purpose of the screen by doing that and in a sense only using half of the screen area. It’s all just a learning experience for sure and finding what works for you and your eyes

I know you probably seen the sniper pole transducer mount that looks perfect but the price is unreal !
Love that you can sit and turn handle because I can't stand.
I have old foot control trolling motor I'm look to try and modify for transducer.
