    Default Mega Live

I don’t see many if any threads
on mega live. Is it that far behind the live scope technology?

I tried Mega before I went the Garmin route. It does work, however, I feel like I can get a much clearer picture further from the boat with the Garmin. Also, superior target seperation. It's one more thing on the front of the boat plus the hassle of the gls 10 box, but there is no better forward facing sonar available that I have seen or used.

This was my first year with Mega live and have been very pleased with it I can see my 1/16 jig out to 50 feet more then good enough for me and i have not installed the latest update. It seems everyone has to run a separate battery running Live Scope no need with Mega Live.

My buddy had to buy a dedicated battery for his megalive because with it & a helix 9 up front interlinked to a helix 9 at bow with would give him a low voltage alarm on a 8 hour day. He put a 100 amphour lithium in & left his console 9 powered by the starting battery & has never had another alarm.

I bought Mega Live when it first came out since my graphs were Humminbird and would support ML. It has a very clear picture but it lacked separation between fish and structure. If the fish wasn’t moving, it was difficult to target it. I also noticed in these lakes in the SE, that it would spook any suspended fish when you pointed the beam toward it. After 6 months of use, I went with the Garmin LS32 and that was the best decision I made regarding FFS. The MegaLive now resides in a closet asleep in the box it came delivered in. Hope this helps!

As a Humminbird fan, I started out with Mega Live. After continually being disappointed by head unit lock ups, out of water fault messages, not being able to see anything from all the electrical interference with no help from each update, I finally got rid of it and went with a Garmin 1222 head unit and Lvs34 livescope and have been extremely happy. I still have my birds for down and side imaging, and I love Mega 360, but when it comes to FFS, they are woefully behind the competition.

KrappieKane, I may need to see your setup in action so I’ll know what I need to get.

I’m planning on cleaning the boat this coming week and put the boat in the water to get things ready to start my longline fishing.

I pre bought mega live had to wait a year for it , I too have the lvs 34 setup with the black box waiting to be installed. I think mega live might b good one day but at my age I don’t want to wait!
